  • Russian vodka

    During the Soviet time the vodka industry has been improved considerably. In these years the authority of Russian strong alcohol drinks has been formed. Vodka is a drink which comes out of the spirit with adding some other ingredients. Depending on taste and aroma vodka can be divided into usual sorts of vodka and special sorts of vodka. Special vodka differs from usual one in specific aroma and taste, which are possible thanks to ether oils, aroma spirits. All sorts of vodka have got the same appearance – colourless, see-though, without sediment.
    There are some short characteristics of Russian vodka.

    «Moskovskaya. Special» (Moscow. Special)
    It is the classical standard of vodka, with 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof). It is made out of spirit «Extra», which is prepared from brain and cleared water. Additional components are soda and vinegar. It has got fine aroma because of the high-quality spirit «Extra» and soft taste. This vodka was awarded medals for the best quality in international exhibitions: Bern (1953) – the gold medal; Pardubitsy (1969) – the gold medal; Zagreb (1977) – Grand Prize; Brussels (1988) – the gold medal.


    «Russkaya» (Russian)
    It is made out of the high-quality spirit which is distilled from brain of high quality and from the cleared water. One of the components is potato spirit. It has got 40% alcohol. It also has got soft taste and fine aroma. It was awarded some international prizes.


    «Starorusskaya» (Old-Russian)
    It is made out of the high-quality spirit and carefully purified water on the recipes of Ancient Russia. One of the components is hydrocarbon sodium. It has got a very good taste and aroma, 40% alcohol.


    «Stolichnaya» (Capital vodka)
    It is one of the most famous sorts of Russian vodka. It differs in the special soft taste and aroma and it hasn’t got any strange aromas. The addition of sugar is minimal (0,2gr\100ml). It is suitable for preparing cocktails. It has got 40% alcohol, but sometimes it can be 37,5% (65,5° Br. Proof), 45,7% (80° Br. Proof), 57% (100° Br. Proof). It was awarded three gold medals and Grand Prizes in international fairs and exhibitions in Brussels (1958), Leipzig (1965) and Pardubitsy (1969).


    «Pshenichnaya» (Wheat vodka)
    It is original vodka which is made out of good wheat, spirit «Extra», cleared water and by use of old recipes. It has got soft taste, 40% alcohol.


    «Limonnaya» (lemon vodka)
    It has got special taste and aroma additions, which give to vodka very pleasant tasteful characteristics. Sour taste and lemon aroma destroy the smell of spirit. 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof). (At the present time it is moved to the group of bitter liqueurs)


    «Posolskaya» (Embassy vodka)
    It is high sort vodka. It is similar to vodka «Moskovskaya», made out of brain spirit «Extra». The water-spirit mix interacts with milk, which gives to this vodka very soft and pleasant taste. It is filtered though the filter-press, has got 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof).


    «Solotoye Koltso» (The Golden Ring)
    It is special vodka of high quality. It is similar to vodka «Moskovskaya». It is prepared on the classical technology with spirit «Extra» and carefully purified water. Additional components are hydrocarbon sodium (soda) and vinegar. It has got soft taste, fine aroma, 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof)


    «Kubanskaya»
    This vodka is flavoured with an infusion of dried lemon and orange peels. It has got soft but a little bit bitter taste and aroma of citrus fruit, 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof)


    «Sibirskaya» (Siberian vodka)
    It doesn’t belong to the classical sorts of vodka, but it has got rather good quality. It is produced from the spirit «Extra» which is distilled from good brain and cleared water. It has got good taste and fine aroma, 45% alcohol (79° Br. Proof).


    «Jubileynaya» (Jubilee vodka)
    It has got 45% alcohol; it doesn’t belong to classical sorts of vodka. The classical vodka «Jubileynaya» has got 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof).


    «Krepkaya» (Strong vodka)
    It doesn’t belong to the classical sorts of vodka. It was awarded international prizes for its high quality for some times, 56% alcohol (98° Br. Proof).


    «Pertsovka» (Pepper vodka)
    It is flavoured vodka made with black peppercorns and red chili peppers. It can be 30%, 35%, 40% alcohol (Because of the flavouring adding this drink belongs to the group of bitter liqueurs.)


    Zubrovka
    It is flavoured vodka, has got 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof) (Because of the flavouring adding this drink belongs to the group of bitter liqueurs.)


    «Extra»
    This vodka is made of the high-quality spirit and cleared drinking water, 40% alcohol.


    «Petrovskaya» (Peter’s vodka)
    It is flavoured vodka, has got 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof).


    «Okhotnichya» (Hunter’s vodka)
    It is not classical vodka. It is a drink of great quality, was awarded some medals in international exhibitions, 45%, 51%, 56% alcohol.


    «Vodka»
    This strong alcohol drink was produced in Ukraine and in Russia, has got 40%, 50%, 56% alcohol.


    «Stolovaya»
    It belongs to the best sorts of vodka. It is flavoured vodka, was awarded some international prizes, has got 50% alcohol (88° Br. Proof).


    «Rossiyskaya» (Russian vodka)
    It has got 40% alcohol (70° Br. Proof).


    «Prazdnichnaya»
    It is produced in small amounts, 40% alcohol (70°Br. Proof).
